I AM Here

The disciples get in the boat to cross over the sea to Capernaum and a storm whips up. The waves are crashing against them, the wind is tossing them about, and it seems as if they will drown! Yet Jesus is there…in the midst of the storm He is walking on the water, He calls to them “Don’t be afraid I am here!”

* Isn’t Jesus always here? He promises to never leave us, never forsake us…why don’t we take Him at His Word?

* When the storms of life are raging, when the thunder is all we hear…Jesus is there calling…”Don’t be afraid I am here!”

* In fact the Greek that is used in this verse actually says, I AM Ἐγώ εἰμί

e-go a-me – I am, I exist, I exist from things nonexistent – Exodus 3:14

God replied to Moses, “I Am Who I Am Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”
