Communal Sunday Worship Services will resume June 7 at 10:00 AM.

Thursday, May 28, 2020

The Bascom UMC Administrative Council is pleased to announce we will be returning to communal worship on Sunday, June 7th at 10:00 AM. Due to the necessity of intensive sanitizing between multiple services, there will be only one service at this time. We are excited that we will begin to live our “new normal”, whatever that ends up looking like.

Part of that new normal will include changes to how we attend communal worship. In order to comply with state mandates regarding social distancing and responsible protocols, the Council has generated Return to Public Church Guidelines that we are requesting all congregational members and visitors adhere to. These guidelines can be viewed on our website or by utilizing the following link: /calendar/2020/05/22/return-to-public-worship-guidelines-june-7-2020.

We understand that these guidelines may cause some controversy as we want “church” to look the same as it did before the pandemic. Unfortunately, we cannot reopen our doors for communal worship if procedures to minimize potential exposure to the Covid-19 are not in place. Please be assured that the council is concerned about the health and well-being of each and every person that may worship at Bascom UMC and provided these guidelines with that in mind. We ask for your support and understanding as we navigate uncharted waters while continuing to adapt our worship and outreach activities to adjust to the changing environment.
