ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR NOVEMBER 19, 2023

We will be holding a brief Administrative Council Meeting after worship today.

Due to the issues over the past few years with keeping our poinsettias alive and vibrant, we will be trying something new. Janice Tschanen will be creating artificial ones at a cost of $10.00 each. Please see Candy Mustamaa for additional information and to place your order.

Luella King is turning 98 on November 30th. Her daughter Karen has asked for us to please consider flooding Luella with a card shower. Address: 4240 West Co Rd 48, Tiffin, 44883.

If you would like to be included in our “Outreach” group text messages, please provide your phone number to Carol Reisner so that you can be made aware of Outreach meetings and/or happenings. Our goal is to increase our footprint in the community. The next meeting will be on Monday, November 27^th at 2:00 p.m.

Speaking of outreach, please spread the word. Bascom Community Church will be beginning a Kid’s Club starting on Saturday, December 2^nd. On the first Saturday of each month, the Kid’s Club will be welcoming kiddos between 3 and 10 years of age for some fun times and discussion about God’s goodness. The club will be meeting from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Also, if you are able to volunteer, we will need helpers! Flyers have been mailed to our Vacation Bible School families as well as placed around town. Volunteers, financial gifts, and prayers would be much appreciated. Please call Carol Reisner or a member of the Outreach team for additional information.

The church had to get a new checking account due to our name change, so please remember to make any checks out to “Bascom Community Church” so that they can be cashed.  Thank you!

The next date for “Mommy and Me” is Friday, December 8^th from 2:00-3:00 p.m. with the next session scheduled after that is January 19^th.  Please sign up on the sheet on the office door if you plan on assisting with the session.

We have a new email address. It is bascomcommunitychurch@gmail.com.

Please make sure to mark any “event” on the calendar posted on the door to the church office. We are trying to make sure there is one location where all can go to see any event involving the church. Thank you!

Our Ecumenical Thanksgiving Worship service will tonight, November 19th at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Bob Greene from Hopewell Church of God will be providing the message at Union UCC.

Our annual Hanging of the Greens (decorating the church building for Advent) will be on Sunday, November 26^th after our Worship Service. This will be followed by a chili and bean soup feast in the Fellowship Hall.

As Christmas Eve is on a Sunday this year, we will be having one service on Sunday, December 24^th at 10:30 a.m. This service will follow our Christmas Eve service format.

Our next Men’s Breakfast will be Saturday, December 2^nd at G.W.’s Fine Foods.

A hearty “Thank You” to the Secret Santa that has placed the coats in the basement for the discussed possible coat outreach. Unfortunately, we were not able to make it a reality for this year. Please do not bring any more in at this time. And on that note, as with last year we are encouraging you to please donate gloves, hats and scarves for the Blessing Box in front of the church.
